Weekend's here! Thad was pretty excited about showing me the Sydney Fish Market (where incidentally I was looking at applying to be a PR Assistant - hah!) so we headed there slightly before lunchtime.

We spent the rest of the day walking. A LOT. Had a walkabout around Pyrmont area to look for possible apartments. Didn't get to see any apartments, but we quite like the area. After that we headed over to Glebe to take a look at the Glebe Market. It was really small! Didn't bother taking any pictures cos we were done in about half an hour? When Frank told me about it, I thought it was like Camden or Portobello in London!

We then trekked to Broadway and finally got my phone line!! :) And then it was to Chinatown for some groceries. Tried to cook something once we got back to the apartment, but we forgot the cooking oil :/

It's official...

Okay, so Thad's off to the office for awhile to say 'Hi!' to his new colleagues and I begin my bumming at home :P Explains all the time I have for blogging... heh.

We're staying at Frasers Suite for a couple of months before we find an apartment of our own. The location is about 15 minutes from the main CBD area, and about the same amount of time in the opposite direction to my favourite place in many large cities - Chinatown!

The place is a decent size, about the same as his HK apartment. Full length glass windows, which I don't really like in winter. Brrr.

Yay! We've arrived at the airport, gone through the checkpoints without quarentine checks, rode the cab by a Hong Konger who moved here 34 years ago, checked into the serviced apartment, set up our bank account and had a terrible "Cafe de Macau" teabreak.

We're officially in Sydney!

Here's the awesome A380 Business Class -- whee!

It's the first time I was ecstatic that the plane had a delayed take-off. More time to enjoy the spacious seats and movies!

Shows watched: Juno, The Other Boleynn Girl, Grey's Anatomy and Bee Movie. No time for Blood Diamond.

Gorgeous food!

Clockwise from top-left: Appetizer - Thai style spicy scallop, green mango salad with mesclun, my maincourse - Steamed herbal chicken in natural broth, fine beans with hon shimeji in XO sauce, mushroom rice (Sam Leong's creation for SIA), his maincourse - Panfried tournedos of beef in herb sauce with seasonal vegetables and gratin potatoes, DESSERT - cherry ice cream with chunky chocolate and whole cherry served with vanilla sauce and tuile. Later we were served gourmet cheese, fresh fruit, coffee/tea and pralines!

Yums.

We were both pretty happy watching movies, but just HAD to try to the fully reclined bed! Ended up watching the shows lying down...

Us
... and I'm (not quite) ready to go...

So after a long hiatus, I'm back blogging here. I've come to accept that as you grow older, it becomes harder and harder to meet up and perhaps whatever glimpse we can get of our friends' lives through various means (blogs, facebook - which I happen NOT to be on, flickr etc.) is better than nothing at all. So here I am blogging again as a way of updating friends on what I'm up to when I'm overseas and "keeping in touch".

So that's right, I'm heading overseas again for awhile. If you managed to guess from the previous post and the new layout (check out the banner I managed to find!), yes, I'll be heading with the fiance (eeks!) to Sydney for what seems to be a couple of years, for now.

It's been a bit whirlwind and things are not looking to slow down one bit. I've applied for no-pay leave and it's been approved thanks to the management's understanding, the luggages are out and filled to the brim, and the tickets are booked for the 2nd of July, which is about 2 weeks from now. (A380, baby!)

So there you have it!
